| Afghanistan Tree Project Due to the past violence in Afghanistan, the cities and countrysides are suffering from deforestation. Children in Afghanistan are suffering from respiratory problems and eye infections due to the unhindered blowing dust. Sister Schools of San Diego has undertaken a new project partnering with the Afghan Ministry of Agriculture to purchase our trees directly from nurseries run by Afghan Farmers. This will ensure the species of trees are native to Afghanistan giving them a better chance of survival. This will also help in strengthening the Afghan Government and enabling Afghan farmers to earn a living. We are now fundraising for planting trees across Afghanistan in 2011.
